 Ici Urban Bistro Restaurant Review: With its French chef firmly in charge of all the menus, Ici Urban Bistro can now claim its proper place in metro DC’s lineup of distinguished restaurants. Even breakfast is not a forgotten affair, with attention paid to such dishes as a Nutella crêpe or a breakfast croissant sandwich. Lunch and dinner are equally appealing, and offer you a glimpse into the chef’s ideas about cooking. You could opt for the rich onion soup, but you might wish to experiment with the foie gras or the velvety poached eggs with mushrooms and asparagus. Depending on the season, main courses may be very robust, such as a hearty cassoulet, or slightly more delicate, like the fish stew full of shellfish and white-flesh fish. The pastry chef delights in creating delicately sweet edibles, such as petits fours and macaroons, but you can also opt for chocolate-almond sponge cake or guava mousse decorated with rose petals. Do ask for a paired dessert wine to top off the meal. Indeed, make sure to study the restaurant’s extensive wine list --- you will surely find an appropriate selection or two. |
