Located on the premises of the former Rising Sun Mills---now residential apartments---the Icon Café smartly incorporates original design elements like a spiral cast-iron staircase (now lined with wine bottles) while “upscaling” the space with an array of comfortable couches and flat-panel TVs. Soups, salads and sandwiches are the order of the day---the Rising Sun is a BLT gussied up with chicken, while Friday’s fish sandwich comes topped with homemade tartar sauce and fresh-cut fries on the side. Daily soup and sandwich specials are offered and there’s beer and wine as well as free wi-fi.
