Food flavors in this nuevo Mexican restaurant range from American southwestern to a touch of New Mexico with little cheese and no lard. Begin with the table salsa of tomatoes, onions and cilantro peppered with hot serranos that comes with thick, fresh chips. Tacos campeche, grilled chicken marinated in apricots, raisins and Serrano peppers wrapped in flour tortillas, may be one of the best Mexican dishes. One of the most popular is snapper Vera Cruz or try the smoked chicken, or beef with mole or black beans. Finish with the chocolate chimichanga, a rich brownie cake filling wrapped and fried in two flour tortillas and served with coffee ice cream or the refreshing Key lime pie.
