Tiny Il Pagliaccio, hidden just behind the popular Campo de’ Fiori, is best known for chef Anthony Genovese’s creative fare. Try the pasta bundles with onion, tapioca and red currants in a saffron broth, or the duck with caramelized pears and a chocolate sauce, followed by one of the colorful desserts by Marion Lichtle, such as the warm pineapple with a cone of rosemary ice cream. The wine cellar is stocked with an international selection chosen for its expression of territory, while the house sommelier, Mateo Zappile, works to create pairings based on emotion.
