| Il Piatto is an obvious choice for diners looking for authentic Italian cuisine near the Plaza. At lunchtime, the dining room fills with shirt-and-tie patrons sampling plump ravioli (try the pumpkin variety, served with toasted pine nuts and a lovely butter-sage reduction sauce) and airy but filling salads. Dishes have also included trout paired with tender mushrooms and polenta. Dinnertime finds this white-tablecloth restaurant dimly lit, with an upscale vibe, making it a good date-night choice. Those with a sweet tooth won't find a better tiramisu within a ten mile radius; it’s beautifully presented and a lovely ending to any meal. |
