Il Terrazzo Restaurant Review: Guests on the patio have the best view, not only of the waters of Tampa's Channelside but also the family-style kitchen created for this Marriott Waterside's signature restaurant. Wrought iron gates, large windows and a wood-burning oven in the kitchen add to the family atmosphere. The menu is created around antipasti, roasted meats, poultry and seafood and contemporary versions of pizza, pasta and desserts. All diners are greeted with a complimentary dish of black and green olive tapenade and a basket of soft homemade bread sticks. Seafood abounds, from roasted sea bass to tuna and Maine lobster. Entrées also include filet mignon with prosciutto and Gorgonzola; stewed veal shanks with saffron risotto and porcini mushrooms; and seared sea bass served over roasted tomato. The Bolognese Calazone marries pork, veal, heirloom tomatoes, fresh herbs, Parmesan Reggiano, mozzarella, Fontina, herb ricotta and tomato sauce. The dessert list is short but tempting; try the semifreddo alla cioccolata --- bitter chocolate, sweet Italian meringue and dark chocolate sponge.
