Imperial House Restaurant Review

: A throwback to another era, this elegantly appointed restaurant in the landmark Imperial Apartments tower will doubtless be serving Ch√Ęteaubriand carved tableside for two and veal Oscar well into the next millennium. A loyal clientele likes the friendly but old-world style with red leather chairs, white linens and formal service. In a nod to modernity, there are salads and fresh vegetables; both the warm spinach and Caesar salads are prepared tableside. Other specialties include Imperial pepper steak, steak Diane, mock turtle soup, and rack of lamb. A good piano player, a skilled bartender and professional waitstaff all make the bar a popular meeting spot. The endless views of Balboa Park add to the inviting ambience.
