| At lunch, India Palace caters to the office crowd, offering an all-you-can-eat buffet of the most commonly requested dishes---saag paneer, dal and other curries, both vegetarian and not---along with rotating specials. At night, the lights go down and the ambience rises as gussied up waiters serve with a formality straight out of British Imperial days. Aloo tikki---essentially small latkes---are a must, as are textbook minced-lamb shish kebabs, good tandoori fish and creamy kheer (rice pudding) for dessert. Several Indian beers naturally go well with the highly charged food. If you're inspired to prepare your own madras feast at home, this spot also has a small grocery store. |
