More approachable --- and less strange --- than Moto, this Homaro Cantu creation has Thomas Bowman in the kitchen cooking up Asian-inflected dishes that range from conceptual to surprisingly straightforward. The narrow, exposed brick space doesn’t exactly attract attention, nor does it detract from what’s on the plate. Standouts include the (admittedly salty) Baozi bratwurst and fish ‘n’ chips. We especially enjoyed the short rib with blue cheese and bacon. Cooking is “by the hour,” and interesting beverage pairings, which may include experimental house-honed nanobrews, are available. Book the kitchen table to see science experiments in action.
