Intelligentsia Restaurant is one of our 2012
| Top 10 LA Coffee House Restaurants
|
| Intelligentsia founder Doug Zell opened his first Los Angeles coffeehouse at Sunset Junction in August 2007. Silver Lakers quickly embraced the Chicago company’s sustainable approach. The covered patio is painted an earthy red, framed by twin arches and brickwork, while the glass-fronted interior houses a classic L-shaped coffee bar. Baristas make every drink to order, either from deluxe Clover brewing machines or custom-built Synesso espresso machines. Countertop blackboards list the day’s selection of single origin coffees. Melon White, Jasmine Silver Needles and Iron Goddess of Mercy highlight the loose-leaf tea menu. Intelligentsia partnered with Eric Kayser’s Breadbar for croissants and baguettes and with Delilah Bakery for muffins, cookies and scones. |
