Ish Kitchen Restaurant Review:

Temple City may be best known for its dumpling houses, but Ish Kitchen shows off the community’s diversity with influences from around the globe converging on a single menu. Diners might begin with the expected spring rolls or be delighted by the presence of chicken liver mousse, or flatbread layered with duck confit, mozzarella and red onions. There are even some modern techniques featured, like the wasabi “air” atop a crab cocktail with uni, or lychee pearls on a beef tongue street taco. A variety of pastas are offered, including the likes of linguine with shrimp in uni sauce, and other main courses range from a lemon grass-scented bouillabaisse to sweet pomegranate-glazed baby-back ribs. A small, global wine list is available, as well as some very creative cocktails. You can even get a three-liter tower of your favorite craft beer to share at your table, with its own little tap. For dessert, there’s bubblegum panna cotta and ice cream with chocolate Pop Rocks. With its sleek, trendy interior, Ish Kitchen doesn’t feel like any of those old-school noodle houses, either.
