Islamorada Restaurant & Bakery Restaurant Review

: The laidback environment may remind you vaguely of a truck stop, but the food is about as home-cooked as you can get, and the portions are generous. The menu is Southern-style, meaning everything’s one step (at least) more decadent than usual --- along the lines of bread pudding or banana bread french toast, or blue crab eggs Benedict. Otherwise, select from any basic egg dish you can think of with all the sides, including, of course, grits. There are over 100 offerings on the menu, so there’s something for everyone in whatever state they’re in (this kind of food is what folk medicine would call a great hangover cure). On the way out, grab a trademark iced cinnamon roll or a gooey pecan bun for the road, or just for later. Be sure to take home the Key lime paste for making your own sweet-tart Key lime cakes, and if you have room, grab a slice of homemade Key lime pie.
