Ivar's Acres of Clams Restaurant Review: Ivar's Acres of Clams is the first outpost of the Ivar’s dining empire. Over the decades, it has remained a destination where locals and tourists alike head to enjoy classic Northwest fare with panoramic Lake Union views. A daily fresh-sheet features a frequently changing selection of the catch of the day. Two favorites are Ivar's thick clam chowder and crisp fish ‘n’ chips. The menu also includes a mixed seafood grill, wild Alaska halibut and Alaska king crab legs, plus more complex dishes such as Northwest mussels in a coconut curry broth and a respectable saffron-accented bouillabaisse loaded with shellfish, salmon and halibut. Don't forget the clams --- acres of 'em! Those who do not choose fish can savor the pork porterhouse with apple-orange beurre blanc or the grilled orange chicken with cranberry plum sauce. The lavish Sunday Brunch is a crowd-pleaser.
