There has been a barbecue restaurant at this location since 1947; Jango’s is simply the latest manifestation. James Johnson added a room to the back and his inimitable style of rich, moist, tender and smoky pork shoulder and meaty, chewy, charry ribs, which are served as a sandwich, a very local phenomenon. He also makes a platonic barbecue roast chicken and a gloriously messy sausage sandwich the eating of which makes you happy to be alive.
