THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Jezebel Restaurant Review:
THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Decadent Southern charm is the order of the day at Jezebel, where seven-foot palms, porch swings and chandeliers dominate the interior, along with the diaphanous shawls that hang cobweb-like from the ceiling amid flickering candlelight. Seatings are at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on weekdays, with a third at 10:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Thespian folks who take turns in the lawn swings, table-hop and, on weekends, sing along to the blues being hammered out at the piano often dominate the crowd. The scene is worth the price of a meal: soul food---ham hocks, Carolina shrimp Creole, spicy rib bits, crispy chicken livers, she-crab soup and fried chicken, smothered with gravy or not---in portions fit for construction workers.
