Jim Neely's Interstate Barbecue Restaurant Review

: Jim Neely, the leader of a Memphis ’cue dynasty, turns out barbecue at his South Memphis diner. The décor is no-frills; the atmosphere laid back and casual; and the variety of smoked meats on the menu is daunting: pork ribs, beef ribs, and chopped or sliced pork. Beyond those offerings you'll find deli-trimmed beef, chicken, turkey, beef links, bologna and more. A one-pot meal, barbecue spaghetti, is a Memphis original. Desserts include Mama Neely’s famous “Sock-It-To-Me Cake,” a golden cake filled with candied pecans and topped with a sweet sugar glaze. The restaurant does serve beer and wine, but selections are minimal. Also located at 150 W. Stateline Rd., Southhaven, Miss, 662-383-5699.
