Joan's on Third Restaurant Review

: Joan McNamara runs this eponymous, high-end deli with her daughters. Display cases are filled with creamy bricks of four-cheese macaroni and cheese, vegetables like sautéed broccolini with lemon zest, and white beans with fried sage and Parmesan. You'll also find heartier items such as salmon cakes with tarragon-dill sauce, maple-rosemary chicken breast and turkey meatloaf with smoky chili aïoli. Composed dishes are available throughout the day. Breakfast items range from french toast to a New York breakfast sandwich with eggs, bacon and Monterey jack. At lunch, there's an apricot-glazed ham sandwich with Brie, and tarragon chicken salad. For dessert, a counter is full of baked goods: harvest bars with dried cranberries, apples and chocolate chips; plenty of cakes and pies; and some of the city’s best cupcakes --- the "cloud" features a marshmallow-filled dark chocolate dome. There’s an array of cheeses, as well as shelves stocked with wine, olive oil, pastas and flavored sugars, among other ingredients, for home use.
