| Joe’s is a happening place. On a good day you’ll catch people dancing on tables. It’s totally laid-back and casual, where you’ll want to order a bottle of beer and an order of popcorn shrimp or a bowl of crab and shrimp gumbo to start. A variety of types of crabs are available, but go with their specialty, blue crabs, and the staff will even demonstrate how to extract the sweet meat. You’ll toss your shells into a bucket in the center of the table, and you’ll wipe your dripping chin from sheets torn from the rolls of coarse paper towels provided to each table. Split an oyster po-boy on the side, or maybe some red beans and rice, as cracking these crabs can really stir up your appetite. |
