Tomato-based yet smoky, sweet with brown sugar but tart with vinegar, the sauce turns most any meat into a satisfying entrée. Side dishes here are as good as the mains. Collard greens are really a delivery system for hunks of salty pork and a peppery broth. Cornbread comes in big hunks, while coleslaw and potato salad satisfy. Home-baked desserts include tarts, pies, cobblers, bread pudding and other classics. Expect loosened buckles and post-meal naps punctuated by sweet dreams of return.
