| Authentic Southern barbecue served in a casual setting has made this spot located just south of Safeco Field a year-round destination. The warm hospitality dished up with the ribs and beans make it popular before and after games for Mariners' fans, as well as with Seahawks and Sounders ticket holders. Jones slathers its signature barbecue sauce on hefty sandwiches or hearty slabs of beef, chicken and pork. The tomato-based sauce is smoky yet sweet with a signature blend of brown sugar and tangy vinegar. Side dishes are as good as the mains, so order more than one. Collard greens are really a delivery system for hunks of salty pork and a peppery broth. Cornbread comes in big chunks, while coleslaw and potato salad satisfy comfort food cravings. Home-baked desserts include pecan and sweet potato pies, cobblers, bread pudding, and other Southern specialties. |
