| Bright red walls and warm hospitality make this barbecue joint, located south of Safeco Field, a family favorite. There's ample seating in the simple storefront restaurant and plenty of good food. Jones slathers its signature barbecue sauce on hefty sandwiches or hearty slabs of beef, chicken and pork. The tomato-based sauce is smoky yet sweet with its blend of brown sugar and tangy vinegar. Side dishes are as good as the mains, so choose more than one. Collard greens are really a delivery system for hunks of salty pork and a peppery broth. Cornbread comes in big chunks, while coleslaw and potato salad satisfy. Home-baked desserts include pecan and sweet potato pies, cobblers, bread pudding, and other Southern specialties. |
