| This is a do-it-yourself yakiniku restaurant, where diners cook their meals on built-in table grills. It's a popular barbecue-style operation that traveled to Japan from Korea some 30 years ago. The elegant modern environment, almost austere, is highlighted by dramatic flower arrangements. A typical meal consists of meats, seafood or vegetables that diners grill themselves. Accompaniments are Juban's dipping sauce, small plates of mild kimchi, soup and rice. The thinly sliced raw beef tongue, grilled and eaten with a squeeze of lemon juice, is particularly good. And, food here can be quick, too: The sliced rib-eye cooks in about 20 seconds. |
