THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Kamehachi Restaurant Review:
The Streeterville outpost of the local sushi empire sports pale wood and glass and shoji screens, resulting in simple yet welcoming environs. There are many different varieties of sushi to try, including Sushi 101 (all cooked fish) for the beginner. If you’re looking for wacky specialty rolls, this probably isn’t your place. Appetizers and sushi creations are better than some of the teriyaki and tempura dishes; however, all the mainstays---from spicy tuna maki to soba bowls, sukiyaki to katsu---get play. Traditional Japanese service, from the hot hand towels at the start to the smiling and gracious waitstaff, makes this a longstanding favorite. The noise level is subdued, so conversation is not a problem.
