Kathmandu Restaurant Review: Dining at Kathmandu is like dining in an art gallery; Deepak Singh, the Nepalese owner also owns East Bay gift shops. The simply prepared chargrilled lamb marinated in spices and the room-temperature smoked lamb marinated in a spicy sauce with onions are good examples of the cuisine. Vegetarian diners will enjoy a thick curry made with 19 varieties of beans in a garlic-kissed tomato sauce. Start the meal with the traditional Tibetan thukpa, ginger and garlic soup or chatamari, a soft rice-flour bread stuffed with spicy chicken. |
