Kenny & Ziggy's Restaurant Review: If you’re looking for an authentic deli, head to Kenny & Ziggy’s. Ziggy Gruber is a third-generation deli man from New York. Kenny Friedman convinced Gruber to bring real New York deli food to Houston and Kenny & Ziggy’s was born in 1999. The extensive menu features everything you would expect, from cheese blintzes to sandwiches piled six-inches-high with house-cured pastrami and corned beef. Lox, sable and whitefish are flown in daily from New York, and you can even order an old-fashioned egg cream. It’s about the only place in town with both Hungarian-style stuffed cabbage and a meaty beef stroganoff on the menu. The breakfast menu is offered all day so anytime is a good time at Ziggy’s for a lox and onion omelet with some corned beef hash washed down with a Dr. Brown’s soda.
