For a unique dining experience, come join the extravagant, hours-long, five-course “demonstration dinners” offered by The Kitchen. Here, chefs Randy Selland and Nancy Zimmer showcase their skills front and center in a live version of a TV cooking show. The prix-fixe menu changes regularly, but diners can count on fresh seafood and meat, seasonal produce and decadent desserts. Dishes may include corn chowder with lobster-chive bread pudding, Wagyu carpaccio with live greens, and slow-poached beef tenderloin with chanterelle-black truffle stuffed squash blossoms. The chefs themselves suggest wines for each course, but their carefully selected wine list invites independent exploring. The venue is often booked months in advance, and while dinner is a pricey $125 per person, The Kitchen offers its wines at retail---not restaurant---prices.
