Klingler's European Bakery & Cafe Restaurant Review: Why eat an ordinary breakfast or lunch when some treats await at this cozy German bakeshop? Décor runs to cuckoo clocks and German whatnots, but the real attraction lies in the pastry cases that run alongside the tables. Klingler’s launched its business by delivering sumptuous cheesecakes and pastries to other restaurants. At breakfast, choose sweet or savory options, such as authentic German cheese blintzes with strawberry or apple cinnamon topping, or a Hilda omelet with Black Forest ham, cheese, tomatoes and sautéed onions. Saturdays and Sundays, the options are expanded with dishes such as schnitzel topped with an egg or a smoked sausage gravy and biscuit platter. For lunch, a bratwurst or knockwurst comes with German potato salad and freshly baked bread. We also suggest the salad sampler with pecan chicken salad, tuna salad and homemade pimento cheese. Reubens are a favorite sandwich here. Check out the braten beef potpie with house salad for a hearty meal. Black Forest cheesecake is a signature, but an array of pastries tempt. Take home some sticky buns or Key lime tarts. No alcohol is served.
