Knead Patisserie Restaurant Review

: Hidden inside Local: Mission Eatery on 24th Street, Knead Patisserie is one of the best kept secrets in San Francisco. The small bakery counter is known among admirers for its pommes d'amore --- crème brûlée welled in small choux cups, the brûléed tops licking at the surrounding puffed pastry. Owner and baker Shauna Des Voignes also crafts buttery croissants, lemon ricotta pop tarts, seasonal scones and tiny tea cakes (think lemon blueberry in summertime, ginger in the fall). Occasionally Des Voignes's baking takes a savory turn, such as with hand-held meat pies or cheddar scones studded with scallions. But for the most part, Knead Patisserie is the stuff of which sweet dreams are made.
