KR SteakBar Restaurant Review: Kevin Rathbun's passion for steak takes on a new twist at KR SteakBar, located in the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC) West in Peachtree Hills. The place is a carnivore's delight, although seafood and pasta dishes are also available. We enjoyed the cured-meats plate as an opener, which came with a bit of Parmesan and figs. "Quinto Quarto" items feature tripe, pig’s ear and pâté to good effect --- try the lamb sausage drizzled with a bit of cane syrup. The South doesn't see much tri-tip, but it's on this menu, presented with the addition of barbecue peanuts and peaches. Meanwhile, house-made maltagliati pairs with a pork ragù, arugula and Parmesan. For dessert, there’s olive oil cake with house-made pistachio gelato and Nebbiolo jam, or go lighter with the fresh-fruit raspberry sorbet. The wine list culls an assortment of Italian reds of distinguished pedigree, but other regions are represented, too, and the dessert line-up is thoughtfully selected as well. Our only complaint: the noise level once the restaurant fills. Strive for booth seating, where a lower ceiling tempers some of the sound.
