| This Winston-Salem, North Carolina-based company has spread its reach to supply donuts even to Harrod's in London. But this renovated store, which has clocked more than a half century, somehow seems its rightful place. The logo sign in the window shows red when the glazed goodies are ready and hot. Standing on tiptoe on a ledge that seems to have been built with them in mind, children eagerly watch the procession of donuts as they drop into the fat and travel in trios along the conveyor to the glazing station. Coffee is good, including the decaf, and you can buy milk and orange juice to complete a breakfast. There's even espresso and latte. |
