La Bodega Restaurant Review

: La Bodega may have a tiny kitchen, but it's a big contender in the world of salads, though its tour de force is the sandwich or sub. There are ten different types of bread and dozens of combinations, from the #55 with chicken, walnuts, sun-dried cranberries, tomato, red onion and crumbled blue cheese to the #13, which is a traditional BLT. The #9 peanut butter, banana and honey is hard to pass up, but the #45 Southwestern sub holds court among some of the best sandwiches in the city. Looking for a side to go with that sandwich? Potato salads, pasta salads, coleslaw and other costars are made fresh daily and will easily round out a meal. Patrons can enjoy their sandwich in the quirky, colorful, brick-walled dining room, where giant cans of olives, peppers and other sandwich-making necessities serve double duty as d├ęcor. Or, in fair weather, grab a picnic table outside and watch the neighborhood go by.
