| This location of La Fonda Latina is installed within the confines of what used to be a corner gas station. The former bay doors are usually open to the summer’s breezes on a well-sheltered outdoor dining space. Within, a few tables are well spaced and draw a mostly neighborhood crowd. The guacamole is among the best in the city, chunky and freshly made. The same may be said of the complimentary salsa, nicely seasoned with flecks of cilantro. The menu scampers over most of the Hispanic world, but focuses on Latin America, and offers everything from enchiladas to Cuban sandwiches to quesadillas and, from Spain and Cuba, a decent if not exciting paella. Flan for dessert is fair, but there are also churros and chocolate. Sangría is made in-house. Other locations. |
