| La Fuente offers quality Mexican food in a down-home, cozy environment despite its size. Seating is divided among three dining rooms with pink stucco walls and murals, but during the warmer months we prefer to snag a seat on the huge patio. Savvy regulars know about the weekday under-$7 lunch special, but at night---when mariachi music carves out a festive mood---the place is packed, too. Pick from one of ten specialty margaritas while mulling over appetizers like the ceviche tostada or shrimp soup. Upwards of 40 entrée options range from the expected (tamales, enchiladas and fajitas) to modern takes (like Mexican pizza). Cap off the meal with a sweet treat, like tres leches cake or flan. |
