| The original la Madeleine location is a gathering spot for Park Cities folks and SMU students; snagging an outdoor table on a pretty day can take some luck. There are freshly baked breads and the tomato-basil soup, Caesar salad and rosemary roasted chicken are menu constants. Salads are dressed and tossed to order; quick picks like croque monsieurs and quiches await in a heated display case; and a blackboard lists the daily specials. The self-service line usually moves along at a brisk pace---pick up your cold items as you move along; hot entrées are prepared to order and delivered to your table. |
