It's always Christmas at this crazy-quilt restaurant, amply decorated with Christmas-tree lights, balloons, stuffed birds, fake Tiffany lamps and other kitsch. From its long counter, La Rondalla's open kitchen serves fine Mexican food, including a rare-grilled steak smothered with fresh onions, potatoes and tomatoes, and an equally tasty birria (slow-cooked goat in a rich, thick sauce). Roving mariachis and unflappable waitresses in red ruffled blouses add to the fun. Hungry after the bars close? This is the place.
