| After a few years of darkness, La Terrasse’s re-opening was a bonus for all Francophiles in and around the University of Pennsylvania. Enter the stark, dramatically lit room, tune into the mellow jazz and you’ll find that the Ivy League atmosphere persists in the buttoned-down, non-fussy décor and the busy bar scene. The kitchen turns out the same dishes that the restaurant became known for when it opened in 1966: assiette de charcuterie with house-made pâtés, hearty soups, sautéed scallops and a veal porterhouse with mushroom risotto. The wine list features many French faves at grad student-accessible prices. |
