La Union Restaurant Restaurant Review

: In a humble setting --- an old house turned restaurant --- La Union offers no-frills, home-cooked-style fare, basically Mexican but with splashes of Salvadoran: think sopa de res, pupusas, and yuca con chicharron. You may well delight in the chiles rellenos, packed with ground meat and topped with sauce and cheese. You will also find quesadillas, fajitas, flautas, enchiladas and tacos with either soft or hard corn tortillas. The kitchen creates house specials, too, such as their versions of surf ‘n’ turf and grilled shrimp. Kids have their own menu choices: taco, enchilada or burritos. Desserts are pretty standard, except for the “panchitos,” or sopaipilla chips drizzled with honey.
