From its humble beginnings in Little Village, Lalo's has grown into a family-owned chain of casual, affordable Mexican restaurants. This location (formerly Michael Jordan's) is big, bright and comfortable. The menu features approachable and commonly understood Mexican favorites plus Lalo's special filet of red snapper and a wonderful ceviche de camaron (shrimp simmered in lime juice). The dining room on the second floor is very comfortable, with booths and tables (tables covered with patterned plastic covers), that allow room to move. There is plenty of space for larger groups. The noise level is not an issue. Large, festive paintings dot the walls and a tortilleria on one side of the dining room adds a touch of authenticity. Margaritas are good and come in various sizes and flavors. Imported and domestic beers, too.
