LANDMARK Restaurant Review

: Located in the southern end of Corona Del Mar, LANDMARK has undergone a noticeable transformation. While the restaurant is still an after-hours hangout featuring weekend DJs and a late-night bottle service, its interior has lighter tones and colorful accents within the main dining space. The biggest change can be found in the cuisine, where the traditional steakhouse menu has been jettisoned in favor of a contemporary milieu highlighting seasonal and sustainable. Executive chef Travis Flood's fondness for upscale comfort food is represented in small plate items such as mac ‘n’ cheese croquettes, lamb confit tacos, and chicken and waffles. Likewise, his adherence to the farm-to-table concept is highlighted within the larger, heartier dishes, such as roasted chicken with manchego and chorizo, and halibut paired with cauliflower gnocchi --- one of several seafood options featured. Fans of potent potables should note that the wine list is full of California and French varietals, and the bar that greets patrons at the entrance produces a bevy of cocktails.

Greak Steak!

I believe I’ve found my home away from home. I recently moved to Newport Beach and stumbled on Landmark Steakhouse in nearby Corona Del Mar. Being a meat person, I do enjoy my steaks and there’s nothing makes a steak more enjoyable, aside from being a quality cut and properly prepared, is the ambiance where you eat it. Landmark has dark wood walls like a traditional steak house and comfortable booths. I ordered a bone-in rib-eye, medium. It was served exactly the way I like it down to grilled asparagus. Scrumptious. I’ve since had their beef stroganoff, this time at the bar. Almost as good as Mom’s. The bartender said the seafood dishes are incredible as well. This may be true, but I’ve got my two favorites. If you enjoy a good steak or stroganoff ,which seems harder and harder to find these days, you might want to give this place a try.
