Lavomatic Cafe Restaurant Review: The refurbished Lavomatic Café also has an evolved menu, featuring items such as Cajun grilled salmon with bourbon butter greens, and barbecue pork chops with honey carrots. Its food theme has shifted to New American, down to the red, white and blue potato salad. Although Lavomatic is less French than when it opened, the name has stuck --- Lavomatic is French for “Laundromat,” one of which occupied the space previously. The redone first-floor bathroom sports head-to-toe Rookwood Pottery tiles. You can't get more authentic Cincinnati than that, unless you head up to the rooftop terrace for a view of the Art Academy and other renovated urban buildings. |
