THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Le Chine Wok Restaurant Review:
In a city filled with Chinese restaurants, this is by no means the finest. But where Le Chine Wok stands out is its décor...it might be L.A.s most attractive Chinese joint. The walls are muted red, tastefully adorned with red and gold lanterns and one entire wall overlooks the sumptuous Chinese antiques of the shop next door, run by the same owners. The menu offers all the typical take-out favorites, but theres also some surprises from Vietnam and Thailand, like pho ga and barbecued eel. The chefs specialties demonstrate an unusually high level of creativity for what would otherwise be a run-of-the-mill restaurant. Choices like the soft-shell crab with jalapeno chili, cold tofu salad and Chinese risotto made with brown and wild rice are by far the best choices on the menu. If only Le Chine Wok could raise its quality to match the atmosphere, this would be an outstanding place to dine.
