THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Le Provencal Restaurant Review:
The merry atmosphere of an old European village restaurant permeates this lively eatery, where servers costumed in traditional French peasant garb break out into song (and dance) several times each evening. A slate awning, copper-shaded lights and a flaming pizza oven enhance the open kitchen, while wrought-iron chandeliers hang from the dining room ceiling. Among the rustic French-Italian regional fare of Provence are appetizers such as escargots with garlic-herb crostini and eggplant Parmesan. Pizzas include the classic margherita and the affumicata, topped with tomatoes, roasted chicken and apple wood-smoked bacon. We recommend the Tuscan white bean soup with escarole, Italian sausage and Parmesan-infused broth. We also like the hearty pasta offerings of spaghetti carbonara and a cheese ravioli served with brown butter and fresh herbs. Save room for the dessert crêpes made with Nutella or bananas Foster, or the romantic chocolate dessert sampler for two.
