| While most counter-service restaurants revolve around the fryer, Leaf takes a different route. Salad is the focus here---but not your average salad. The menu is dominated by a dozen masterfully crafted salads, though you can choose to build your own. Our standby is Abbi’s Asian Chicken, which we consider the feng shui of food. Texture, flavor and color dance with harmony via a cabbage-based mix tossed with edamame, Mandarin oranges, chow mein noodles, toasted almonds and grilled chicken in an organic sesame-ginger vinaigrette. El Jefe showcases grilled steak, roasted corn and fried onion straws with a spicy ranch dressing. All dressings are homemade, as are the daily soups. The downtown location is perfect for business and shopping break lunches. As an added bonus, all the disposable-ware is biodegradable, compostable and-or made from recycled products. There’s also downtown delivery. |
