Leaf Restaurant Review

: While most counter-service restaurants revolve around the fryer, Leaf takes a different route. The menu is dominated by a dozen masterfully crafted salads, though you can also choose to build your own from the nearly 50 ingredients that equate to salad alchemy. Our standby is Abbi’s Asian chicken, which we consider the feng shui of food. Texture, flavor and color dance with harmony via a cabbage-based mix tossed with edamame, Mandarin oranges, chow mein noodles, toasted almonds and grilled chicken in an organic sesame-ginger vinaigrette. El Jefe showcases grilled steak, roasted corn and fried onion straws with a spicy ranch dressing. All dressings are homemade (Champagne vinaigrette being our favorite at the moment) as are the soups, with two selections that change daily, perfect for the diner looking for a hot meal. Soups range from hearty beef to refreshing vegetarian selections. As a bonus, all the disposable-ware is biodegradable, compostable and/or made from recycled products. There’s also downtown delivery service.
