Lean & Green Cafe Restaurant Review: This La Jolla eatery has set out to save the world one wrap at a time. You can get quick smoothies, salads, soups and wraps that taste good and damage the earth as little as possible. All ingredients are USDA certified organic. Even the packaging and utensils are made from renewable, sustainable, compostable and biodegradable materials. Start your day with a dose of anti-oxidants from an acai bowl with strawberries and granola, or steel cut oatmeal with fruit. For lunch, we like to start off with a hearty soup, such as the brown lentil with carrot and celery, and then move on to one of the flavor-rich wraps; favorites include the turkey-goat cheese, roast beef-cheddar, and the Mediterranean wrap. When it comes to smoothies, we favor the kick that comes with the Sprung Monkey (coffee, whey chocolate, bananas and cinnamon) and the intense sweetness in the Peach Passion (peach nectar, peach slices and bananas). |
