Great Wine List* Click here for rating key
Roland Passot's Left Bank delivers oh-so-satisfying cuisine of the sort that your French grandmère would cook, but in a setting that's far buzzier than any grandparent's house. It has high ceilings, so when it's busy, the noise level can soar. Many favorite bistro dishes are here: mussels steamed in wine (great with crispy shoestring potatoes), rotisserie chicken, bouillabaisse, salmon-and-scallop quenelles, grilled salmon, and a lovely crisp duck from the spit with oranges and rice. Don't leave without sampling the warm tarte Tatin with vanilla ice cream or the lemon tart with raspberry coulis. The wine list offers a wide array of French and California choices and is priced to go with the food. Service is crisp and professional without being snooty. |
