Lemon Grass Restaurant Review: The original of an ever-expanding local chain of Southeast Asian eateries in the greater Sacramento area, Lemon Grass still holds on to the quality that made it notable in the first place. For nearly two decades, owner-chef Mai Pham has turned out modern interpretations of traditional recipes, mostly Vietnamese, and her popularity has extended into the arena of books, TV and even a bottled curry to take home. Traditional salad rolls, spring rolls and green papaya salad are among the starters, while mains include grilled lemon grass chicken, garlic-brandy steak with peanut sauce, and caramelized garlic catfish in a clay pot. A number of vegetarian options are available, as are reduced-sized portions for the little ones.
