Lemongrass Restaurant Review: Located on the main floor of a charming Victorian house, this family-run Thai restaurant prides itself on its intensely flavored, notably hot food. There's a 1-20 spice scale, but diners are actively discouraged from going any higher than 3. Iron-stomached guests often challenge each other to go higher, but most regret it. Luckily, there is more to the cooking than hot peppers. You won't find the usual bulging menu that other Thai spots flaunt; instead, the kitchen turns out a small selection of tasty dishes. Red meat isn't served, but plenty of shrimp, chicken and vegetable curries along with stir-fries are available. Try the pad thai or the green curry chicken (you might want to stick with spice level 0). Note: Service is famously erratic, and it’s a cash-only establishment. |
