Lemongrass Restaurant Review: There's a 1-20 "how hot?" spice scale at Lemongrass, a family-run Thai restaurant located in a charming Victorian house. Diners are actively discouraged from ordering any higher than 5, but competitive guests often challenge each other to venture farther up the scale. Luckily, there is more to the cooking here than hot peppers. You won't find the usual bulging menu that other Thai spots flaunt; instead, the kitchen turns out a small selection of tasty dishes. Red meat isn't served, but there are plenty of shrimp, chicken and vegetable curries, along with stir-fries. Try the pad thai or the green curry chicken (for this dish, you might want to stick with spice level 0). A cooling cup of Thai iced tea is the perfect accompaniment. Service is famously erratic, and it’s a cash-only establishment.
