Les Saveurs du Sichuan Restaurant Review:
Near the Porte d’Orléans, in the South of Paris, this restaurant displays a nondescript façade as well as a commonplace setting with white walls and a wooden floor. Initially, it’s hard to presume that authentic Sichuan dishes are served here. In keeping with that cuisine’s tradition, the fare is often spicy, seasoned with pepper, ginger or herbs. The menu includes well-prepared food by chef Michel Pan, such as the dry beef salad with pepper, honey-brined duck thigh with roasted potatoes and, to finish things off, grilled rice bites with soy and brown sugar sauce. Expect a terse wine list but an interesting assortment of sakés. Service is conducted efficiently by Claire Pan.
