THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Little Mexico Restaurant Review: The owners of this Mexican restaurant actually hail from Guatemala, but caved to pedestrian Portland palates that require familiar fare. Yet the Munozs preserved their heritage and dignity by including several Guatemalan specialties in the extensive menu. Be adventurous and try the carne guisada, beef broiled with green tomato and pumpkin seed, or pache, spicy mashed potatoes stuffed with salsa and chicken steamed in a banana leaf. The Mexican selections are hearty and predictable, but youll have a choice of seven different meats for your burrito. The food is more interesting than the décor here, which could do with a greater Guatemalan influence itself.
