THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Lobster Pot Restaurant Review

: This place has been around for more than 20 years, so, obviously, many people are happy with its food---that is, happier, apparently, than we’ve been. It’s not bad, it’s just nothing special. Plus the place tends to get noisy and annoyingly smoky. The wood-paneled, dimly-lit bar is the centerpiece here, so don’t expect a relaxing meal most of the time, even in the other rooms. Appetizers and entrĂ©es run the gamut of all the usual seafood fare with some standouts like seafood bisque, steamed mussels and barbecued shrimp kabobs. While chicken and steak both get a spot on the menu, its stars (most of which come with chunky house fries and cole slaw) are the fresh daily specials, such as grilled salmon, mahi mahi, pan-fried Lake Erie perch and walleye (both favorites in the Cleveland area), snow crab, and baby Maine lobster tails, all of which come with a good-sized house salad for a buck extra. Of the desserts, the house’s Key lime pie is the most successful, but, again, not too spectacular.
