Local Gastropub Restaurant Review: Local Gastropub dishes out gourmet grub without all the finery, amid exposed brick walls and bar-style track lighting. And although burgers and fries are on the menu, they’re offered alongside classier items such as a fire-grilled Tuscan rib-eye and Creole shrimp and grits. Among sandwiches are a Kobe steak and farm fresh egg number and a New Orleans-style muffaletta. Daily changing soups promise warming, light fare. Salads are nicely constructed with large wedges of lettuce and homemade croutons. The restaurant is located just blocks from both the Orpheum Theatre and FedExForum; it’s ideal for locals gathering pre-show to share a “pub plate” of wings, sea scallops or Delta fish ‘n’ chips. The wine list is uninspired, so you’ll do better with the brews (this is a pub, after all). Desserts, however, do not disappoint. Check out the bread pudding on any given evening; it can vary daily.
